5 WAYS TO ENJOY SPRING IN HALIFAX
Roam the Citadel
Walk inside this magnificent 18th century fortress and step
back in time as period soldiers march to the sound of pipes
and drums and the cannon roars at the stroke of noon. The
view alone from the Citadel is worth the walk up the hill.
Wander the Waterfront
The shops, restaurants and sights along the Halifax
waterfront are a must-see. Just exit the hotel and head
down the hill along Sackville Street. You'll know you're
there when you reach the Harbour. The historic waterfront
is the setting for major festivals throughout the summer
and ample fun throughout the year.
Stroll Along Spring Garden
In the mood for some shopping? Spring Garden Road boasts
over 200 retail shops to meet all your whims, wants or
needs. Here you'll find the latest fashions, Nova Scotia
giftware, spas and salons, coffee, food and entertainment.
Public Gardens
If relaxation is what you are looking for, head for the
elegant Public Gardens at Spring Garden Road and South Park
Street. This oasis is a rare example of a formal Victorian
public garden, surviving intact and relatively unspoiled in
the heart of a modern city.
Point Pleasant Park
This much-loved park is open year round for a variety of
uses, including walking, picnicking, skiing, cycling and
dog walking. Its shoreline provides magnificent views of
ships and yachts entering and leaving Halifax's busy
harbour and it has a complex system of roads and trails
that wind among rocky hills, low cliffs and valleys.
