Deep Sea Fishing

On this excursion, you’ll get a glimpse of historic Charlottetown as we head out to North Rustico, a picturesque fishing village located on the north coast of the island.  Prince Edward Island is known as the “million acre farm”, and you’ll see lots of evidence of that as we pass potato farms, golf courses, rolling hills, and country inns as we make our way to the dock in North Rustico.

Dockside, you’ll set sail aboard a 45-foot long, government-approved, fully-equipped (including washrooms) fishing boat complete with rods, reels, and rain gear for your use.  Your Captain has many years experience plying his trade in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.  He and his crew will demonstrate the proper way to fish for lobster, cod, herring, mackerel and tuna.  You’ll not only learn about the unique names of the fishing boats encountered during your time sailing, but you’ll also have an opportunity to try your hand at fishing in the clean waters of the Gulf.  With the use of an underwater camera, you’ll be able to see the Gulf’s unique, marine ecosystem. 

Following your Gulf adventure, we’ll do some sightseeing and perhaps stop for lunch before we begin our drive back to your cruise ship.
